PE Curriculum Support Programme (PECS)
Ensure that your PE and School Sport Premium has a sustainable impact on the quality of PE in your school
We have partnered up with Aspire Training Solutions who have developed the Physical Education Curriculum Support (PECS) programme.
The PECS programme is very different to one-off training programmes and CPD opportunities regularly used by primary schools. It focuses on the total development of you staff and helps you improve the education and health and well-being of your children and your teaching workforce.
This video shows Chepping View Academy's experience of PECS.
Maths on the Move
We are expanding our partnership with Aspire Sports and Training solutions to offer our local schools their Maths on the Move programme as their local partner for the programme in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
It is a unique and innovative programme that uses the concept of active learning to enhance children’s confidence and attainment in maths.
The programme is suitable for all abilities and can be tailored to suit the individual requirements of your school.
Gifted and talented children benefit from booster sessions to reach the highest grades, while lower achieving pupils can improve their mathematical skills and confidence, benefiting from an alternative learning environment that’s proven to increase both confidence and ability.
Many schools have found that Maths on the Move is a great way to utilise the Pupil Premium or the Primary PE and School Sports Premium.
PE Lessons & PPA Cover
We have ten years of experience of with schools locally providing in school team teaching and PPA Cover. We currently work with around 40 schools across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
All staff working within the curriculum are DBS checked and have the relevant first and safeguarding qualifications. All of them will have had at leastr 1 years expereince of working within schools as well have achieved of be working towards the PESS Level 3 (in Supporting PE & School Sport), Level 2 Multi-Skills, Level 2 Dance and & Level 2 Gymnastics.
Our leadership team regularly observe our staff and feedback on their performance and we arrange termly progress meetings. We are also always at the end of the phone or responding to emails when you need us. For all PPA Cover sessions we guarantee cover so you can be sure that we will always be there for you.
Team teaching is a great option for schools that want their teachers to gain additional ideas and skills for teaching specific areas of PE. It is less robust than our PECS programme and relies on the teacher to take their own notes and log their own progress but we have some schools and teachers that prefer this option.
Extra Curricular clubs are a great option for schools looking to extend the amount of sport and physical activities their children do within a week as well as support parents with a later pick-up option. We can provide breakfast, lunch and after-school activities. Schools can be fully included and control the organisation and registration if they wish through school funding the activities.
Otherwise we can take away all the hassle and stress by providing parent funded clubs. Our online booking system and office team mean you can offer a broad range of sports for your children without the additional time, effort and management.
We offer a wide range of activities such as Football, Cricket, Rounders, Tennis, Gymnastics, Athletics, Hockey, Multi-Sports, Tag Rugby & Netball as well as less traditional activities like Archery, Fencing, Cheerleading, Street Dance, Lacrosse & Tri-Golf
Fixtures & Festivals
Our Festival Friday programme has been running since 2015 and in that time we have engaged over 5,000 children in compeitive fixtures and festivals. Our competitions manager liaises with local schools to reduce some of the administration associated with arranging and organising schools sports fixtures. Schools can sign up to our yearly programme or pay as you go for specific activities they want on a yearly basis. We can also provide a 6 week block of coaching leading up to the festival to give your children the best chance of success!
Your school will also have a dedicated professional sports coach working with you and your children on the day of the event to ensure things run smoothly and you have a helping hand in organising the kids and managing the matches.
Bikeability & Balanceability
Bikeability is today's cycling proficiency scheme. It's about gaining confidence and skills whilst on a bike as well as preparing for today's roads. There are three levels for bikeability and we are able to offer all three meaning your children can start at any level they need to. The programme can be delivered within a week if required (either during the school term or in the school holidays) or as a 6 week programme within a half term.
Your school is also able to access funding through the Department for Transport to deliver the programme and if children do not have access to a bike then we are able to provide them with one and a helmet. So there really is no excuse not to give this great activity and learning experience a go!
What is Balanceability?
Balanceability is the UK's first afPE Approved 'learn-to-cycle' programme for children aged 2½ years upwards. The programme is a structured course available to schools, leisure centres and independent trainers. It is currently active in 1800 sites across the UK with 94% of children aged 4 to 6-years-old being able to safely ride a pedal bike at the end of the programme.
Balanceability combines unique ergonomic balance bikes with a schedule of fun activities that build confidence, spatial-awareness and dynamic balance skills, enabling young children to cycle without ever needing stabilisers.
We can offer Balanceability within schools, nurseries and also weekly private sessions for your child.
